2023 STANYS Syracuse Conference Schedule
We can't wait to model with you at the Science Teachers Association of New York State 2023 Conference! Transform your classroom teaching by visiting us at Booth #414 or attending one of our sessions to see how modeling makes students more engaged and helps them better understand biomolecular science.

Saturday, November 4th
9:30 - 10:30am - Conesus Room
Session Title: Folding and Molding: Hands-on Protein Structure
Presenter: Dan Williams
Session Description: Connect gene and protein sequences and structure-function relationships with physical models so vocabulary words come alive with meaning for your students.
Featured kits and models: Amino Acid Starter Kit©

Sunday, November 5th
3:15 - 4:15pm - Canandaigua Room
Session Title: DNA With A Twist - Use Of Multiple Models In The Classroom
Presenter: Dan Williams
Session Description: Connect nucleotide sequences with DNA structure in a way that ATC & G’s come alive in the students’ hands. Using models, students can form observations and questions. Models range from simple to complex and can be used for constructing interactive activities for almost every aspect of genetics, gene expression & engineering.
Featured kits and models: Dynamic DNA Kit©
