Don’t Have the Resources to Purchase Classroom Materials?

DonorsChoose

If you are among the growing number of teachers using DonorsChoose to raise funds for classroom supplies, please be aware that you can post a project seeking donations to purchase several of 3D Molecular Designs’ most popular kits. If successful, it will be fulfilled by one of our re-sellers – Carolina or Nasco – who are DonorsChoose vendors. If you want to raise money to buy a 3D Molecular Designs product that is not available from Carolina or Nasco, you may be eligible to post a special request project, and we will be contacted to fill the order after it is funded. DonorsChoose has declined our request to become an official vendor because we are a small business. Please consider contacting DonorsChoose to kindly request that they add us to their list.

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Awards and Recognition Program

The NSTA Awards and Recognition Collection provides a number of links to funding opportunities to recognize the outstanding work being done in the field of science education.

State and Local Sources

Additionally, many community organizations support education projects. Consider contacting one in your area to schedule a student presentation:

NEA Foundation

Grants are available to public school educators who are NEA members. Currently, preference is given to proposals that incorporate STEM and/or global learning into projects. Teachers can apply for a $2,000 or a $5,000 award.

ACS-Hach High School Chemistry Grant

The American Chemical Society supports innovative chemistry teachers who wish to enhance classroom learning and raise students’ interest in chemistry. Funds can be used to purchase laboratory equipment, supplies, and instructional materials. Teachers can request up to $1,500 for their ideas.

Toshiba American Foundation

Toshiba American Foundation funds educators teaching in grades 6-12 up to $10,000.  They like to fund projects focusing on biotechnology but will fund most STEM projects.  Grant applications have a rolling deadline and are funded at various times throughout the year. Fund for Teachers Grants

Fund for Teachers, a national nonprofit, invites pre–K–12 teachers who have taught for at least three years to propose their ideal learning experience through an online application. Also eligible are curriculum specialists or heads, special education coordinators, media specialists, and librarians who spend at least 50% of their time teaching students; they may apply as individuals or as teams. Those chosen receive funds to put their plans into action. (Individuals receive up to $5,000, and teams receive up to $10,000.) All fellowships awarded are self-designed. (Deadline January 19, 2023)

Walmart Local Community Grants

These grants are awarded through an open application process and provide funding directly from Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities to local organizations in the United States. Local Community grants range from $250 to $5,000. For education grants, K–12 public or nonprofit private schools, charter schools, community/junior colleges, state/private colleges, and universities may apply. Education grants are awarded for providing afterschool enrichment, tutoring, or vocational training for low-income individuals and families in the local service area. (Deadline December 31).
